DON'T BRING THEM UP IN A MANNER TO BE HAVING THEIR WAY

WE SHOULD KNOW HOW TO ENCOURAGE THEM IN THE THINGS THAT ARE RIGHT AND DISCOURAGE THEM IN THE THINGS THAT ARE WRONG.
PARENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN AN EXPRESSION OF LOVE AND CHILD UPBRINGING.
-IGNORANCE IN THE THINGS THEY ALLOW THEIR CHILDREN BECAUSE THEY DO NOT WANT THEM HURT.

MOST OF THE TIMES, PARENTS SHIRK OF THIS RESPONSIBILITY HAS LEFT THE CHILDREN TO GROW HEADY AND IMPATIENT WITH LIFE AND THUS TURN ON THE WRONG ASPECTS OF LIFE .

48  Sometimes I wonder if we intellectual Americans has enough discernment to discern right from wrong. Especially the juvenile courts prove that we haven't got it to discern right and wrong for our children, and they seem to have a good psychologist's answer, for instance like this: If Junior comes up to his papa, and stomps his little feet, and screams out, and shakes his head, said, "Dad, I don't care what you say, I want a hot-rod." (That's typical America.)

And the father says, "All right, Junior, I'll buy it for you."

You could say to that dad, "Why did you do it?"

"Oh, I love him."

You remember, dad; Junior is going to grow up to be a man someday, and he will marry and have a family. God help that wife that lives with a boy that's been brought up like that to have his way about everything he wants: can't discern right from wrong. That's not love; that's pure ignorance. The Bible's right. Spare the rod and you spoil your son.

51  Little Fannie will come up to mother, and she's going to go at the rock-and-roll. Mother tells her she can't do it. "But, oh, mother, you're cruel to me." Of course, you love Fannie, and you let her go. She'll get out amongst that bunch of hoodlums, on all that nonsense, come in and pucker up her little painted lips, and tell you a lie, that there's no harm in it. God have mercy to the man that'll marry something like that for a wife. Discerning right from wrong, we can't discern our own.

59-0812 - Discerning The Body Of The Lord

52  God has give us the perfect assurance that we are His children. And as His children, He corrects us just like I correct my children, you correct your children. When in the wrong, we correct them. If—if my children does wrong, then it's my duty as a father to correct them. And then if God's children does wrong, it's His duty as a Father, and He will correct you. Just remember that; you'll be corrected. But as long as you're His child, the world better keep their hands off of you (That's right.), for He said, "It's far better for you that a millstone was hanged at your neck and you were drowned in the depths of the sea than even to bring an offense upon one of these little ones that believe in Me." That's right. What is that judgment going to be?
